C-Section Scar Mobilization: Your Guide to Recovery

After a cesarean birth, many women are left with little more than a checklist of what not to do—don’t lift too much, don’t move too soon—without any real guidance on how to actually support their healing. If your c-section was unexpected, you might also be carrying heavy feelings about how your birth unfolded, maybe even wondering if you somehow failed.

This course is here to change that. We’ll walk you through gentle, practical ways to care for your scar and surrounding tissues, helping you reconnect with your body and build trust in it again. You’ll learn how to safely mobilize your scar to improve comfort, ease restrictions, and support your core and pelvic floor, all while giving yourself the compassion and understanding you deserve in this season of healing.

In this section, Casey—who has personally walked through two labored c-sections herself—will gently guide you into the world of scar care. You’ll learn when it’s safe to begin mobilizing your scar, what normal healing looks like, and how to start reconnecting with this part of your body in a way that feels supportive and kind. This is a warm invitation to care for yourself with patience and compassion as you navigate recovery from a birth that may not have gone as you expected. You’re not alone here—and together, we’ll take the first small steps toward healing and feeling whole again.

In this section, Casey gently walks you through several hands-on techniques to support your scar healing, sharing from her own experience of navigating c-section recovery. You’ll learn how to start with simple scar desensitization, when and how to progress to deeper scar mobilization, and explore other tools that can help you feel more comfortable and connected to this part of your body. Casey’s step-by-step approach will help you feel safe and supported as you begin to care for your scar in a way that promotes true healing—inside and out.

Along with gentle hands-on techniques, Casey also guides you through simple mobility routines that bring healthy movement back into your body. These routines go beyond stationary scar work, helping you ease tension, restore function, and support your overall recovery. With Casey’s compassionate guidance, you’ll learn how to safely add movement to your healing process, building trust and confidence in your body again, one small step at a time.

After a cesarean birth, there is fairly little guidance given on how to approach recovery. You may have been told to simply not lift a certain amount of weight, and to limit movement until a certain time frame. However, that really doesn’t give you any guidance on what to do!

Casey will be your guide through this scar mobilization course. She is a physical therapist, yoga teacher, and 2x c-section mom. After her first cesarean birth, Casey spent months working on her c-section scar to improve her overall function and health in preparation for a second pregnancy. Casey shares her professional expertise as a physical therapist and her personal experience as a mom to support your healing journey.
