The VBAC Preparation Course

If you’re planning for birth after a c-section, you’re likely hoping to feel more confident, informed, and truly ready this time around. In our VBAC prep course, you’ll learn about the common reasons c-sections happen and how to approach this pregnancy in ways that can help increase your chances of a vaginal birth. You’ll also explore what it looks like to plan for a repeat c-section—so whichever path you choose, you’ll feel calm, prepared, and empowered to make the best decision for you and your baby.

Course Curriculum

In this section, you’ll discover what a VBAC actually is—a vaginal birth after a previous c-section—and what that could look like for you. We’ll go over the current statistics in the U.S. so you have a realistic picture of how often VBACs happen, and we’ll talk through the common fears and concerns many women have when considering a VBAC. By the end, you’ll start to see where your own hopes, questions, and story fit into this journey.

Who you choose to support your birth is one of the biggest factors in shaping your VBAC experience. In this section, you’ll learn how to tell if your provider is simply tolerant of VBACs—or truly supportive. A tolerant provider might leave you fighting for your preferences near the end of pregnancy or even in the middle of labor, while a supportive provider will work alongside you to help you feel safe and heard, whether you’re planning for a VBAC or a repeat c-section. You’ll also explore what it might look like to switch providers so you can build a team that’s genuinely aligned with your goals and gives you confidence heading into birth.

There are so many reasons you might hear from providers—or even well-meaning friends and family—about why a VBAC is too risky or simply not a good idea. In this section, we’ll break down the most common myths surrounding VBACs and dig into what the research actually says. You’ll learn where these fears come from, what factors truly matter, and practical ways to address concerns so you can feel informed, grounded, and confident in your choice for this birth.

Your c-section scar is the path your baby took to enter this world—a powerful part of your story. Still, it’s normal to feel a little uneasy or even disconnected from it. In this section, you’ll learn about the different types of scars, what they mean for a future birth, and simple, effective ways to support your scar’s healing. You’ll come away feeling more connected to your body and reassured about how your scar fits into your next birth experience.

Birth is so much more than just physical—it’s deeply mental and emotional, too. This is especially true if you’re carrying any fear or anxiety into your next birth. In this section, we’ll help you process and honor your previous birth as its own unique story, while also preparing your mind for a new experience ahead. You’ll learn practical ways to embrace the uncertainty that comes with birth, so you can step into it feeling calmer, more open, and truly ready for whatever path this journey takes.

In this section, you’ll learn how to prepare your body for a VBAC with a focus on the very things that may have played a role in your previous c-section. We’ll cover ways to create more space in your pelvis, support your baby’s best position for birth, and build the kind of mobility and strength that can help labor progress more smoothly. You’ll come away feeling empowered with tools that give you a real sense of readiness for this next birth.

In this section, you’ll learn about both unplanned and scheduled c-sections, and how each can be a valid, empowered way to bring your baby into the world. You’ll also hear stories from other moms who chose a cesarean for their birth, helping you see that no matter the path, your experience can still be meaningful, intentional, and something you feel truly good about.

ADD CBE +

In this section, you will learn what is a VBAC, or a vaginal birth after c-section.  Learn what the statistics are in the United States and the common fears of a VBAC.

One of the MOST important things for a VBAC is who you choose to support your birth!  Is your provider tolerant or supportive?  If you have a tolerant provider, you may find that you are fighting a lot near the end of your pregnancy or even during your labor.  Choosing a supportive provider–and potentially switching providers–is one of the most important factors on whether or not you will have your VBAC or feel confident about a repeat c-section.

What are the common myths of a VBAC?  There are so many reasons that your provider may throw at you on why VBAC is dangerous–but let’s look at the research to better understand WHY these myths exist and ways to mitigate these myths so that you can feel confident in your birth.

Your c-section scar was the path that you baby entered this world!  It played a huge role in your prior birth–but you may feel hesitant about this scar.  Learn about the types of scars and ways to support your scar healing.

As with all birth, it’s more than physical preparation–mental prep for birth is huge!  Especially if you have any anxiety or fear for your upcoming birth.  In this section, we will share ways to accept your prior birth experience as its own unique experience and to prepare for a new experience with the uncertainty of your birth path

In this section, you will learn how to physically prepare for a VBAC with special consideration for key things that may have influenced your prior c-section, such as increasing space in the pelvis and supporting your baby’s position for birth.

In this section, you will learn about both unplanned and scheduled c-section births and how they can both be a valid path for your birth.  Hear from other c-section moms share their stories choosing a cesarean for their birth path.
