15-Minute Prenatal Core & Upper Body Workout!

Can you still train your core throughout pregnancy??  The answer is YES!  And you should continue to train your core.  Your core is important to help you stabilize--which will improve your prenatal comfort--and also to support your baby's position!
Can you still train your core throughout pregnancy??  The answer is YES!  And you should continue to train your core.  Your core is important to help you stabilize–which will improve your prenatal comfort–and also to support your baby’s position!

But, how you train your core matters during pregnancy!  We don’t want to just focus on traditional ab exercises–we want to ensure that the exercises we are choosing are still appropriate for pregnancy!

In the MamasteFit Prenatal Fitness Programs, we include daily core exercises to keep you strong AND comfortable throughout your pregnancy.  Our core exercises primarily target:

  • Core stabilization–maintaining your position as your arms and legs move, such as with one-sided farmer carries, bear crawls, and pallof press.
  • Rotational core strengthening–these exercises target the obliques, which can help to stabilize the pelvic girdle and heal diastasis!
  • Myofascial sling exercises that support pelvic stability!

15-Minute Prenatal Core & Upper Body Workout!

In this 15-minute upper body and core workout, you will do three rounds of:

  • Bent over rows to strengthen the back muscles!  This is especially important during pregnancy as our belly grows more forward–we need a strong posterior chain to help us maintain an upright position.
  • Adductor side plank to strengthen the inner thigh–you may not think of the inner thigh as a part of your core, but the inner thighs play a large role in pelvic stability!
  • Side lying hip abduction with ball balance straight into a side plank hold to strengthen the core and obliques!

This workout is a 15-minute preview of one portion of a full prenatal on-demand workout!  Our prenatal on-demand workouts are broken up into three parts–A, B, and C– to allow you to shorten or lengthen workouts to meet your daily needs!

Went into spontaneous labor at 38 wks with baby #1 last night (born this morning) and was able to push through a very fast and intense labor (8 hrs active, 4 hrs of contractions with basically NO BREAK in between that got me from 1cm dilated to fully 😵‍💫) unmedicated! Pushed for an hr! I thank you both, your prenatal fitness program, and prepping pelvic floor fit birth for how much I rocked this delivery. THANK YOU!!!

I used the "Prepare for Birth Mini bundle." I loved that there was an emphasis on staying active and moving throughout your pregnancy. I had very little pain during my pregnancy and i think at least part of that is because i followed advice from mamastefit and did quite a few of the stretches. Focusing on diaphragmatic breathing ended up being the most helpful for me going into labor. I also love that you guys taught different options for movement no matter what interventions I chose. The peanut ball ended up being my best friend after I got the epidural. I love that your emphasis was on making informed decisions and I believe that I was able to do so because of this course.

I had my final postnatal appointment and my midwife says she has never seen such a healthy postpartum pelvic floor, in fact if she didn't know better she would have guessed that I hadn't had any children. The whole team was amazed at my overall physical recovery which I attribute to your programming and the nutritional guidelines from Lily Nichols. They are recommending your program to more of their clients because of my great results. Thank you!
